The last few weeks club members have been riding high, we completed our press progression, which resulted in some outstanding results from everyone. Every single person in club improved their technique, alongside increasing the weights and reps pressed. Just before half term I stood there watching everyone test and had a very proud coach moment. It proves that with consistency, hard work and programming that progress can be made.<\/p>

With the long month of January out of the way and February upon us, Hels Bells members embarked upon a Squat Challenge. February marks a year since club member Zoe died of bowel cancer, so we took it upon ourselves to raise some money for the charity with the challenge to complete 100 squats every session. As always club members tackled the challenge head on and have been absolutely brilliant at getting the squats done focusing on good technique to ensure they stayed safe and injury free throughout the month.<\/p>

A rough calculation shows we have completed around 40,000 squats this month! That\u2019s alot of squats! We have also raised over \u00a3800 for our chosen charity so far. It\u2019s not too late to sponsor us and it would mean a great deal if you felt able to spare a few pennies.<\/p>

Choosing a club member of the month has not been easy as so many people deserved it this month having made great progress with the press, but also because club members have worked hard with their squats. <\/p>

One individual clearly stood out to me, for her commitment to classes, energy that she bring to club and her drive and determination. This months\u2019 Club member goes to Lisa, or Ham-Jam as she prefers to be known! <\/p>

\"2eyd1lriqpd57n2gl80ssha7untvsjccemmt8dcuuqcvhrqx.jpeg\"Ham-Jam joined Hels Bells just before Christmas and I knew from the outset she was going to love kettlebells. Sure enough she got the bug and trains consistently 3x a week. She is very coachable and keen to improve her technique and get stronger. The consistency and hard work Lisa has put over the past 3 months has meant her progress has been nothing short of phenomenal, beyond anything she felt she would achieve. <\/p>

As all beginners do she started using the 8kg, but quickly moved up the weights, pressing the 16kg and 18kg for low reps and swinging and deadlifting heavier bells with good form. Ham-Jam loves a challenge, proven recently with her press but also cleaning and pressing the double 14\u2019s for low reps. She never ceases to amaze me and I am loving watching her progress.<\/p>
